City of Sonora
Rural Development is helping the City of Sonora with a $35,000 Community Facilities grant. This project will purchase a command vehicle for the city’s fire department.
Currently the fire department uses a 15 year old Ford Bronco that has over 200,000 miles, and is no longer dependable. The new vehicle will come with communications equipment that will enable units to be used in the statewide mutual aid system as well as ensure continued emergency service to the City of Sonora.

City of Huron
Rural Development is helping the City of Huron with a $30,000 Community Facilities grant. This project will purchase a new patrol vehicle and camera system for the city’s Police Department.
The new vehicle will replace one of the city’s existing, worn out vehicles. The new video policing camera system will also allow the department to increase their policing capabilities without incurring the increased cost of additional personnel.
