As Director of the Information Resources Division in the Office of Operations, Ms. Dudley serves as the Chief Information Officer for the eight Staff Offices of Departmental Administration. Ms. Dudley established the Information Resources Division in January 1998 and was appointed the first permanent Director in March 2000. She is responsible for strategic and operational information services for the 650 employees of Departmental Administration. Strategic information services include information resources and technology policy, budgeting, planning, and enterprise architectures. Technical services include application development, cyber security, and operations of telecommunications, desktop and corporate hardware and software.

Ms. Dudley's career in information technology has included projects from programming to network management to strategic planning, applied to textiles, cattle, forestry, finance, and human resources. She worked for two years in private industry, one year in academe, and over 20 years in the Department of Agriculture. Ms. Dudley began her career with USDA as a programmer at the Fort Collins Computer Center, was Branch Chief of Financial Computer Systems for the Forest Service, and was a Program Manager for the Modernization of Administrative Processes (MAP) Program Office. As a Project Leader for the MAP Program Office, Ms. Dudley developed an Information Systems Plan for administrative functions across USDA, which served as the basis for the current administrative architecture. Ms. Dudley graduated from Western Illinois University with a B.S. in Mathematics. After 3 years as a librarian in the public schools of Illinois, she completed an M.S. in Library Science from the University of Illinois and an M.S. in Computer Science from Northern Illinois University. She also pursued post-graduate work in Computer Science at Colorado State University and course work for a Graduate Certificate in Information Systems Security at George Mason University. Ms. Dudley is also a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute.

She and her husband Robert, Chairman of the Department of Public and International Affairs at George Mason University, have two sons and live in Fairfax , VA..
