All USDA employees in the National Capital Region are invited to a Preparedness
Day event taking place on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from 10:00am-2:30 pm in
the back of the South Building Cafeteria. This activity, sponsored by the Office
of Operations, showcases USDA's Emergency Preparedness Program and is part of
the Department of Homeland Security's National Preparedness Month campaign.
The Preparedness Day showcase will provide employees with an opportunity to
learn more about topics such as the Incident Command System, teleworking during
emergencies, evacuation equipment, and the Automatic Electronic Defibrillators
(AEDs) installed in our headquarters buildings. In addition, employees will
receive information about personnel and building protection measures currently
in place or planned for installation at the headquarters.
Employees will also receive information about what types of items to include
in their personal grab & go kits and about our shelter-in-place lockers,
along with some receiving sample preparedness items given away hourly to employees
attending Preparedness Day.
A sign-language interpreter will be present; however if you need additional accommodations, please contact the Target Center at 202-720-2600.
We look forward to seeing you at this informative event!
