Term Appointment
(Time limited more than one year but not
more than 4 years)
Federal civil service Term appointments are
defined as appointments expected to last for a specified period of time that is
at least more than 1 year but not to exceed 4 years.
To determine if your Federal employment is or was a
temporary appointment, refer to your SF-50, “Notification of Personnel Action”,
in the section “Employee data”, block number 24 (“Tenure”). Term
appointments are denoted by a “3” in that block.
