HOW TO APPLY
Applicants may apply for most jobs with a resume, the Optional Form
612, or any other written format they chose (unless specified in the
announcement); current performance appraisal; and, any other
supplemental information required by the agency.
NOTE: Surplus and Displaced employees must submit a copy of the RIF
separation notice, Certification of Expected Separation or other
certification issued by the agency which identifies the employee as being in
a surplus organization or occupation.

WHO MAY APPLY
STATUS applicants are persons who have a career or career-conditional
appointment in the competitive service or have reinstatement eligibility.
These applicants may apply for any vacancy within the area of
consideration.
NON-STATUS applicants are persons who are not in the competitive
service and have no reinstatement eligibility. These applicants may apply
for any vacancy when the area of consideration states "ALL SOURCES"
OR "NON-STATUS". In addition to the above forms, applicants must
submit an OPM Notice of Rating, if appropriate.
SPECIAL HIRING AUTHORITIES. People with disabilities, former
Peace Corps, Vista, and Action Cooperative Volunteers, Veterans
Readjustment Act (VRA) eligibles, and 30% Disabled Veterans may be
considered under special hiring authorities. If you are in one of these
categories, please indicate the category in the upper right hand corner of
the application.
DISPLACED employee who is a current agency employee serving under
an appointment in the competitive service, in tenure group I or II, who has
received a specific reduction in force (RIF) separation notice.
SURPLUS employee who is a current agency employee serving under an
appointment in the competitive service, in tenure group I or II, who has
received a Certification of Expected Separation or other certification
issued by the agency which identifies the employee as being in a surplus
organization or occupation.
