USDA George Washington Carver Telework Center Policies

The Telework center environment may be significantly different from the office environment at your agency. Please review the following guidelines and be respectful of your fellow teleworkers. Our goal is for all Federal employees to have a pleasant and productive experience while working in the center.

Computers

Please do not add any personalizations to your workstation PC (these could be considered offensive to others using the workstation). Desktop wallpaper, screen savers and other settings should remain at the default set by the Center Manager. If you feel the need to change certain settings on your PC, please discuss these changes with the Center Manager.

Do not install any personal software programs or hardware on these PC=s. If you require installation of a specific software program or additional hardware for official business use, please notify the Center Manager.

Do not attempt to Afix@ any defective hardware on your PC. Please contact the Center Manager so the computer support group can be notified to resolve the problem.

Telephones

Outgoing calls are restricted to local calls only. A credit card may be used for long distance phone calls.

Most workstations in the center are very open and voices tend to carry. Please be respectful of your fellow workers as some of these actions may be disruptive.

Please do not use the speaker phone while working in the center when other workers are present.

Maintain a low to moderate voice level while talking on the phone.

The center is a professional work environment. Please do not use profanity while talking on the telephone.

Visitors

Due to the nature of the center, it is inappropriate to have personal visitors, including children, at the center for extended periods of time. Occasional brief visits are acceptable. If your children do come to the center, please be sure that they stay in your workstation area and do not allow them to roam throughout the center. Under no circumstances should children be allowed to operate any of the personal computers, copiers, or fax machines.

Copiers/Fax/Printers

Copiers, fax machines and printers are for official use only. Please do not use them for personal reasons.

Respect Your Co-Workers!

While engaging in personal conversations please be respectful of those working around you. Keep conversations low and if possible take any discussions outside the Center.
