Physical Asset Management Description: Electronic tracking mechanisms will be deployed to efficiently manage all USDA-owned physical assets, including real estate, vehicles, plans, computers, furniture, etc. in USDA Headquarters and all state and local offices. This initiative will improve security, reduce theft, and mitigate waste, fraud, and abuse. It will also provide insight in reducing costs, recommending upgrades at the necessary times, and optimizing asset usage. Finally, asset management allows the Department to better track inventory and manage surplus goods.
