Crops County Data. Planted and harvested acreage, yield per harvested acre, and total production by county and Crop Reporting District. Files include data by cropping practice (i.e. irrigated, non-irrigated...) There are multiple compressed files, each is in a separate executable file for un-compressing. The un-compressed file size is about five times the size of the compressed file.

Most recent five years of inventory or yearly production estimates by county for cattle & calves, milk production, hogs & pigs, sheep & lambs, chickens, layers, and egg production as required by each State's Department of Agriculture program. Local (State) funding may limit data availability for a specie(s) or a year(s), including some major production States. There are multiple compressed files, each is in a separate executable file for un-compressing.

Crops by State, Historic. State level estimates for: barley, corn, cotton, oats, sorghum, soybeans, and wheat. Planted, harvested acreage, yield per harvested acre, and total production for some commodities date back to 1866 and go through 1994. Livestock Slaughter. Two sets of data; Weekly Federally Inspected (FI) head, and Monthly head, live weight, dressed weight and meat production for Commercial and FI. The Monthly data are in ASCII, comma delimited files (file extension .DTA) with data for 1974-93, U.S only. The Weekly head kill by species and class are in Lotus WK1 files for years 1978-93 U.S. only.

Crops--U. S. Estimate Track (Series) Record, 1866-Current. Historic estimates from the United States Crop Production report were assembled to serve as a ready reference for statisticians and commodity analysts. Data comprised of National level statistics for the principal crops in NASS's estimating program showing comparisons of the estimates. These data can be used to identify record lows and highs for acreage, yield, production, and stocks.
