USDANEWSGREEN LINE VOLUME 56 NO. 2 - FEBRUARY 1997

Dear Mr. Secretary,
This is just a note of appreciation on your lovely column titled "A Dream, Too, at USDA," that ran in the January 14 issue of The Washington Post, as well as your similar column in the January issue of the USDA News.
So much about race and discrimination concerns our ability to view the world through someone else's eyes--and we are confident that under your leadership the Department will shed its image of the "last plantation" and be known as the "people's department."

Praveen Dixit
Fairfax, Va.

Dear Praveen,
Thanks for your very kind note.
I am encouraged by the positive responses I received on the article. We will move forward to make USDA a better, fairer place to work. Thanks.

Dan Glickman
Secretary
