VOLUME 61 NO.3 — June-September 2002

“The ice cream is a nice reward, and, as this exhibit points out, I think we employees are 'making a world of difference’ here at USDA,” notes Demetria James (2nd from right), a bindery equipment operator with the Office of Operations at the USDA Printing Plant in Washington, DC. Her colleagues--with ice cream bars in hand--bindery helper Sebastian Wiggins, bindery equipment operator Kim Deal, and document technician Randy Spencer (L to R) seem to agree. This ice cream social was held on June 14 on the Patio of the Whitten Building at USDA headquarters in Washington, DC. Betty Waters, special assistant to the director of OHRM, coordinated the event. She said it was intended to give USDA’s senior executives the opportunity to show their appreciation for the Department’s employees, as well as give employees the chance to celebrate their roles as public servants.
