Dwayne Buxton is the deputy administrator of the National Program Staff in the Agricultural Research Service. From February 1997 until his selection to this position, Buxton served as a national program leader on ARSs National Program Staff, where he concentrated on research on oilseed crops, including soybeans, sunflowers, and peanuts, plus small acreage crops such as guayule. He was the research leader of ARSs Field Crop Research Unit in Ames, Iowa from 1990-97. He joined ARS in 1981 as a lead research scientist in Ames, concentrating on 4-H crop production and quality. Darwin Murrell, the previous deputy administrator of ARSs National Program Staff, retired from this position following 32 years of federal service. |
