GLICKMAN NAMES U.S. MEMBERS TO NAFTA ADVISORY COMMITTEE Release No. 0013.97 Carol Blake (202) 720-8998 cblake@usda.gov Jerry Redding (202) 720-6959 jredding@usda.gov GLICKMAN NAMES U.S. MEMBERS TO NAFTA ADVISORY COMMITTEE WASHINGTON, Jan. 16, 1997--Secretary of Agriculture Dan Glickman today named 10 members and 10 alternates to serve on the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Advisory Committee for Commercial Dispute Resolution Regarding Agricultural Goods. Initially, the advisory committee will focus its attention on addressing disputes for perishable fruits and vegetables. Eventually, it will work on disputes for other agricultural commodities the three member countries trade. Consistent with NAFTA's Article 707, the committee has up to 30 members, 10 from each country. Of each set of 10, eight members may be from outside government and two from within the government. All of the representatives are to have interests in agriculture. Named as U.S. non-governmental representatives are: Daniel J. Coogan, Tucson, Ariz.; Michael J. Machado, Linden, Calif.; Matthew M.
