FOOD RECOVERY ROUNDTABLE Release No. 0020.97 Media Advisory Johna Pierce (202) 720-4623 Laura Trivers (202) 720-4623 GLICKMAN LEADS FOOD RECOVERY ROUNDTABLE, HELPS FEED THE NEEDY, AND ADDRESSES NATIONAL CATTLEMEN'S BEEF ASSOCIATION WASHINGTON, Jan. 30, 1997--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will lead a roundtable of individuals interested in participating in food rescue on Friday, Jan. 31, in Kansas City, Mo. Rountable participants will include representatives from restaurants, community service organizations, foundations, and economic development programs. The roundtable will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, 415 West 13th Street, Kansas City, Mo. Immediately following the roundtable, at 12:00 noon, Secretary Glickman will go downstairs to help serve lunch to about 300 needy individuals at the Kansas City Community Kitchen, beneath the Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral. At 12:30, Glickman will address the National Cattlemen's Beef Association at the Kansas City Convention Center, Exhibit Hall A, 13th and Central, Kansas City, Mo., and will discuss trade issues and review livestock disaster assistance concerns.
