GLICKMAN TO UNVEIL USDA BUDGET THURSDAY

     WASHINGTON, Feb. 3, 1997--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will
unveil USDA's FY 1998 budget Thursday, Feb. 6 at 1:00 p.m.

     Glickman and other senior USDA officials will be available to respond
to questions.

     The media availability will begin at 1:00 p.m. in Room 107-A of USDA's
Jamie Whitten Building, 1400 Independence, SW, Washington, D.C.
