Reappointed members and alternates, by region, are: North Atlantic states -- Joseph H. Fortin, Lebanon, Conn., member. South Atlantic states -- Melvin D. Russell, Collierville, Tenn., member. East North Central states -- Ronald D. Truex, Warsaw, Ind., member; Victor A. Rigterink, Seymour, Ind., alternate; Thomas E. Hertzfeld I, Waterville, Ohio, member. West North Central states -- Harold A. Sankey, Sioux Falls, S.D., member; Joseph W. Claybaugh, Carroll, Neb., alternate; Chris G. Dixon, Germantown, Ill., member; Alfred J. Schimpf, Dousman, Wis., alternate. Western states -- Gordon D. Satrum, Canby, Ore., member. Newly appointed members and alternates, by region, are: North Atlantic states -- Anderson J. Walters, Richmond, Va., member; Ronald E. Kreider, Manheim, Pa., alternate; Robert R. Hodges, Bear, Del., alternate. South Atlantic states -- Michael H. Bynum, Dover, Fla., alternate. East North Central states -- Ross E. Meyers, Milan, Ohio, alternate. South Central states -- Charley J. Kammerdiener, Jr., Hope, Ark., member; Rodney H. Bobo, Hope, Ark., alternate. Western states -- Dianna L. Stiebrs, Yelm, Wash., alternate. Membership terms on the 18-member board are staggered so that half of the membership is appointed each year in order to provide continuity in policy. The board administers an egg research and promotion program authorized by the Egg Research and Consumer Information Act of 1974. USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service reviews the program's budget, plans and projects to assure that it operates in the public interest. The program is funded entirely by a ten-cent per 30-dozen case assessment on eggs marketed by egg producers with flocks of over 75,000 hens. #
