U.S. TRADE REPRESENTATIVE-DESIGNATE TO SPEAK AT USDA OUTLOOK FORUM

     WASHINGTON, Feb. 21, 1997-- U.S. Trade Representative-Designate
Charlene Barshefsky is scheduled to address USDA's Agricultural Outlook
Forum  97 on Feb. 24.  Ambassador Barshefsky will speak following a 1:00
p.m. opening address by Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman.

     The public is invited to attend the meeting, to be held at the Omni
Shoreham Hotel, 2500 Calvert Street, N.W., in Washington, D.C.  To register
call the USDA Graduate School at (202) 401-9421.  Journalists planning to
cover the conference should preregister by calling Martha Evans at (202)
501-6134.   A staffed press room will be available.  Television coverage on
Feb. 24 is invited.  Appropriate lighting will be provided.
