AGRICULTURE SECRETARY DAN GLICKMAN TO VISIT MONTANA Release No. 0088.97 Media Advisory Jim Petterson (202) 720-4623 AGRICULTURE SECRETARY DAN GLICKMAN TO VISIT MONTANA WASHINGTON, March 19, 1997--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will visit Gardiner, Montana on Sunday, March 23 to discuss issues involving bison and Yellowstone National Park. "I am going to Montana to get a first-hand look at the situation caused by the movement of bison in and around Yellowstone National Park," Glickman said. "This will be a fact-finding trip. I am coming to learn and intend to sit down with as many people, with as many points of view, as possible." During his trip to the Yellowstone area, Glickman, accompanied by Senator Max Baucus, will tour the bison capture facility in Yellowstone and participate in a town hall meeting with stakeholders in the bison issue. The town hall meeting will be held from 2:30 - 4 p.m. in the Gardiner Public School, 500 Stone Street, Gardiner. While in Montana, Glickman will meet with members of the Montana congressional delegation and Montana Governor Marc Racicot.
