Gore, Glickman to Announce Latest Round of Funds for Rural Water Projects

     WASHINGTON, June 26, 1997 --Vice President Al Gore will announce Friday
the latest round of funding for Water 2000, the Clinton Administration's
initiative to help deliver safe drinking water to rural America. 

     Gore and Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will make the announcement
Friday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m. from the Roosevelt Room in the White House.

     Members of the media who plan to cover the event must call the Vice
President's press office at (202) 456-7035.

     On Friday, press should gather in the White House briefing room at 10:00
a.m. for escort to the Roosevelt Room.
