Release No. 0207.97 Jim Petterson (916) 542-7900 - USDA Paul Bledsoe (202) 208-6416 - Interior Media Advisory GLICKMAN AND BABBITT TO VISIT TAHOE PUBLIC OPEN SPACE PRIOR TO WORKSHOP WASHINGTON, June 27, 1997--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman and Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt Monday morning will tour a tract of public land across from the Incline Village High School to discuss the forest health, recreation and tourism issues affecting the Lake Tahoe Basin. Glickman and Babbitt will be available to the media following the tour. Later Monday morning, Glickman and Babbitt will host the "Forest Ecosystem Restoration; Recreation and Tourism" workshop at the Hyatt Regency, 111 Country Club Drive, Incline Village, Nevada. The workshop begins at 11:30 a.m. Registration is required. Those interested in attending the workshop should call (916) 542-7901 to register. The workshop is the second of three workshops being held by Clinton Administration officials in preparation for the Lake Tahoe Presidential Forum to be hosted by President Clinton and Vice President Gore on July 25 and 26. The information gathered from the workshop will be the foundation of a report that will be given to President Clinton and Vice President Gore during their visit to Lake Tahoe.
