USDA'S NASS TO DELAY RELEASE OF POULTRY SLAUGHTER REPORT

     WASHINGTON, June 27, 1997--The U.S. Department of Agriculture's
National Agricultural Statistics Service is delaying the release of the
Poultry Slaughter report scheduled for July 2, 1997. The delay is caused by
a computer system problem.

     The report will be rescheduled as soon as possible and a revised
release date announced.
