USDA ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL CODES FOR HUDSON RECALL

     WASHINGTON, August 15, 1997--The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food
Safety and Inspection Service today announced  additional product codes
involved in the voluntary recall of frozen ground beef produced by Hudson
Foods Co. of Rogers, Ark.

     The new codes on the previously announced l5-lb. boxes of "Hudson 60-1/4 lb. Beef Patties, Uncooked Individually Quick Frozen" containing 60 one-quarter-pound frozen patties are: 155A7, 160A7, 160B7.

     USDA earlier today announced that the voluntary recall of Hudson
product has been expanded to over 1.2 million pounds of frozen ground beef.
