AGRICULTURE SECRETARY DAN GLICKMAN TO ATTEND VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY AG    
  FIELD DAY

August 22, 1997-Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will attend the Virginia
State University Ag Field Day on Tuesday, August 26, 1997. The Secretary
will tour research exhibits and give the keynote address at the Ag Field Day
luncheon.  

He is expected to discuss the importance of the research being conducted at
the University and its role in sustainable agriculture.  His emphasis will
be on the benefits that effective conservation and farming practices can
have in improving and sustaining small and minority farms.

               and Bobby Scott.

     What?          Tour of Ag Field Day Research Exhibits and keynote address
                    to Ag Field Day luncheon by Secretary Glickman.
