AGRICULTURE SECRETARY GLICKMAN TO ATTEND FAST TRACK EVENT ON CAPITOL HILL

     Washington, D.C., October 21, 1997--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman Wednesday at an
event on Capitol Hill will highlight the importance to the U.S. agricultural sector of President
Clinton having "fast track" trade negotiating authority.

     Glickman will speak at a news conference organized by a large coalition of agriculture
trade associations, businesses and others to support President Clinton's call for the authority
to negotiate trade agreements.
