The IAC was chartered by 84 tribes in 1987. Together, its membership controls more than 80 percent of the 54 million acres owned by Indians and Indian tribes in the contiguous 48 states and about half of the 44 million Indian-owned acres in Alaska. This symposium marks the group's tenth year promoting the betterment of Indian people through the conservation, development and use of their natural resources in agriculture.
