GLICKMAN TO KEYNOTE NATIONAL MARKETPLACE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT CONFERENCE NOV. 18

     WASHINGTON, Nov. 17, 1997--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will
deliver the keynote address to the National Marketplace for the Environment
Conference and Trade Show Nov. 18 at the Washington Convention Center.

     The opening program begins at 9:00 a.m. and Glickman speaks at 9:15 a.m.
on Tuesday, Nov. 18 in Hall C/Room 40 of the convention center on 11th and H
Streets, NW.  The conference runs through Nov. 20 and will highlight
environmentally preferable products, technologies, and services.  

     Following his keynote address, Glickman will tour exhibits on the trade
show floor.  USDA will exhibit products made from agricultural materials
including crayons from soybeans and a natural absorbent made from cornstarch
used in products ranging from diapers to fuel filters.
