GLICKMAN TO SPEAK AT TUSKEGEE MONDAY


     WASHINGTON, Dec. 4, 1997--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will deliver the
George Washington Carver keynote address atTuskegee University Monday morning. 

     The speech will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 8, in the Auditorium of the
Kellogg Executive Conference Center on the Tuskegee University campus.  A media availability
will follow the Secretary's remarks.

          Following his remarks, the Secretary will host a conversation on race with
community leaders.  This discussion is part of a series of informal gatherings sponsored by the
President's Initiative on Race to gather ideas for addressing the issue. The conversation will
begin at 11:30 a.m. place in the Booker T. Washington Boardroom of the Kellogg Executive
Conference Center.
