CONSERVATION RESERVE PROGRAM'S 16TH  SIGN -UP RESULTS

     WASHINGTON, JAN. 27, 1998--The final results of the Conservation Reserve Program's
(CRP) 16th sign up will be announced Thursday, January 29 at 1 p.m.

     Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will make the announcement from Olympia,
Washington.  His remarks will be available live in Washington, D.C. at 1 p.m. in room 104-A in
USDA's Jamie Whitten Building. Following the Secretary's remarks, Deputy Secretary Richard
Rominger and program officials will be available for questions.
