GLICKMAN TO VISIT FAMILY FARM IN KANSAS CITY AREA, ADDRESS ANTI-HUNGER
CONFERENCE

     WASHINGTON, September 24, 1999 Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will
travel to the Kansas City, Mo. area on Monday, September 27, 1999 to visit a
family farm and to address a major anti-hunger conference.  

     He will address the Second Harvest National Conference in Century
Ballroom C of the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City, Mo. at 11:45 a.m.  He
will discuss efforts by USDA and nonprofit organizations to fight hunger in
the United States.

     He will then visit the Marty Richardson family farm in Camden Point, Mo.
to discuss agriculture issues with a small group of local farmers.  Members of
the press can shoot b-roll or still photos as the meeting begins at 1:45 p.m.
and can then attend a press availability with Secretary Glickman at 2:15 p.m.
