GLICKMAN TO ATTEND QUINT AGRICULTURE MINISTERIAL

     WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 1999 Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will
attend the second Quint Agricultural Ministerial on Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, in
Montreal, Quebec, Canada.  Agriculture Ministers from the five Quint members -
- the United States, Canada, the European Commission, Japan, and Australia --
will discuss a range of current agriculture issues.  The meeting, hosted by
Canadian Minister of Agriculture Lyle Vanclief, is closed to the public.  

     Following the meeting, Secretary Glickman will hold a brief media
availability in the Hotel Omni Montreal, just outside the Printemps Room, at
about 4:45 p.m.
