SAFETY NET

     WASHINGTON, January 31, 2000 -- Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will
hold a press briefing on Wednesday, February 2, 2000 at 1:30 p.m. to discuss
the Administration's proposal to strengthen the safety net for America's
