GLICKMAN TO JOIN U.S. TRADE REPRESENTATIVE BARSHEFSKY AND COMMERCE SECRETARY
DALY IN DISCUSSION OF NORMAL TRADE RELATIONS STATUS FOR CHINA

     WASHINGTON, February 9, 2000   Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will
join U.S. Trade Representative Charlene Barshefsky and Commerce Secretary
William Daley at a meeting with the Agricultural Coalition for China Trade to
discuss what impact the passage of Normal Trade Relations status for China
will have on agricultural exports.  The meeting will take place on Thursday,
February 10, 2000 at 4:00 p.m.
