"The experience that each of these individuals bring to the council will enhance USDA's efforts to protect and increase urban tree cover and other aspects of our nation's green infrastructure," Glickman said. The five members, appointed for three-year terms, to the 15-member council are:  Kaman K. Abdollahi, associate professor and project director for urban forestry, Southern University and A&M College, Baton Rouge, La.  John Ball, associate professor of forestry, South Dakota State University, Brookings, S.D.  Ann Bates, executive director, Idaho Nursery Association, Idaho Falls, Idaho  Dan DeWald, natural resources manager for parks and community services, city of Bellevue, Bellevue, Wash.  Roger J. Rivera, president and founder, National Hispanic Environmental Council, Alexandria, Va. The council advises Glickman on the care and management of trees, forests, and related natural resources in urban and community settings. NUCFAC also works with federal and state agencies and other partners to share information and technical assistance, and to award competitive cost-share grants that advance the science and practice of urban forestry. NUCFAC was established by the 1990 Food Security Act. #
