USDA TO PROPOSE NEW NATIONAL ORGANIC STANDARDS

     WASHINGTON, March 6, 2000 -- Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman will
unveil a new USDA proposal for national organic standards in a press briefing
on Tuesday, March 7, 2000 at 12:30 p.m.
