Glickman Names Members and Alternatives to Grain Inspection Advisory Committee Release No. 0126.00 Dana Stewart (202) 720-5091 dstewart@gipsadc.usda.gov GLICKMAN NAMES MEMBERS AND ALTERNATES TO GRAIN INSPECTION ADVISORY COMMITTEE WASHINGTON, April 18, 2000--Agriculture Secretary Dan Glickman today announced the appointment of five members and four alternate members to serve on USDA's Grain Inspection Advisory Committee. The appointees will serve 3- year terms which began March 1. The new members are: export elevator operators Warren Duffy, Jr., Ama, La., and Randy Cartmill, Portland, Ore.; domestic elevator operator Paul Lautenschlager, Shelby, Mont.; scientist Dr. Lowell Hill, Urbana, Ill.; and producer Gillan Alexander, Bogue, Kan. The new alternate members are: export elevator operator Tim Paurus, St. Paul, Minn.; producer Fredrick Elling, Rudyard, Mont.; domestic elevator operator Chris Breedlove, Sebastian, Texas; and scientist Stacy Charlton, Research Triangle Park, N.C. The Grain Inspection Advisory Committee is comprised of 15 members, appointed by the Secretary of Agriculture, who represent all facets of the grain industry. The Committee meets twice annually to advise USDA on the establishment of programs and services under the U.S. Grain Standards Act that meet the needs of the agency's customers. #
