- The Alternative Farming Systems
Information Center (AFSIC) at the National Agricultural
Library has recently made available a web-based information resource,
"List
of Alternative Crops & Enterprises for Small Farm Diversity".
- Updated the Small
Farms Database to include the status of USDA's responses to the 146
recommendations submitted in the National Small Farm Commission's report, A
Time to Act.
Each action plan developed by USDA in response to the Commission's
recommendations will indicate whether it was Fully Implemented, Partially
Implemented, Unable to be Implemented, or Not Implemented by the
Department. Executive summary reports are also available for quick
snapshots of all of the actions taken by USDA according to the USDA
Mission Area assigned responsibility for responding to each
recommendation. (See Index1
