USDA Small Farm Coordinators
Enhancing
the viability and economic livelihood of America’s small farmers and
ranchers is one of USDA’s top priorities. USDA has a Department-wide
group of Small Farms Coordinators, representing each mission area;
individual agencies; and the Offices of Outreach, Civil Rights, Budget and
Program Analysis, Communications, Chief Economist, and the General
Council. Small farms coordinators provides a focal point to
coordinate small farm policy and programs within USDA. They are
responsible for planning, recommending and coordinating the implementation
of small farms polices and programs.
A key function of the USDA Small Farm Coordinators is to work together as a team to help USDA
meet the needs of America’s two million plus small farmers and ranchers. USDA
achievements and accomplishments in helping small farmers and ranchers have been published in a USDA
report,
Assisting
America's Small Farmers and Ranchers in the 21st Century . The
USDA
Small Farm Coordinators also published a brochure, Information
for Small Farmers and Ranchers, which list all the USDA agencies and contact information for each
agency.
