Disability Awareness

Bruce McFarlane, Acting Director of the TARGET Center

The TARGET Center's mission is to ensure that all USDA employees have safe and equal access to electronic and information technology by assessing, educating, and advocating for the integration of assistive technology and worksite accommodations. Our staff is comprised of individuals with expertise in ergonomics, assistive technology, and needs assessment in order to provide reasonable accommodations that will address your needs. The TARGET Center regularly participates in agency and government-wide events to promote the awareness of managers and staff regarding disability issues and creating an accessible work environment. Visit our web site to see when our next open house, technology demonstration, or special event is scheduled. If you are sponsoring an event and need someone to speak to your group about disability sensitivity, assistive technology, ergonomics, and I.T. Accessibility issues, please contact us. We are here to support you in making USDA a model accessible workplace for people with disabilities.
