Low Vision Workstation

Mark Wilner, Program Manager of TARGET Center

This is the low vision workstation for the TARGET Center, and it consists of several different components. First of all, you'll notice that we have a large screen monitor. This happens to be a 20" monitor. The other major piece of hardware is to my left-- a closed circuit tv system, or also known as a CCTV or video magnifier, and it's used to magnify or enlarge documents or hardcopy or objects-- anything that goes under the camera. We also have special software to enlarge text and graphic images on the screen. For example, this is an overlay view. You can also change a view to a lens similar to a handheld magnifier. We can also do color contrasts, and we can also add in on this type of software text reading capabilities. As you can see, we have the tools to accommodate people with low vision.
