Management Division
Morris E. Tate serves as the Director, Analysis and Resource Management Division. The division provides management studies and analyses; policy development; assistance in strategic planning; budget development; financial services; general administrative services; executive support services to the Office of the Secretary and the sub cabinet; environmental compliance and protection; occupational safety programs; assistive technology and ergonomic solutions for employees with special needs; and sign language interpreting services.
Mr. Tate’s experience includes four years as the Chief, Washington Area Service Center (facilities management for USDA Washington headquarters); over eighteen years in facilities, natural resources and environmental management with the U. S. Marine Corps; seven years as a Civil and Structural Engineer and engineering manager in private industry and consulting practice; and six years as a Civil Engineer with the USDA, Soil Conservation Service (now Natural Resources Conservation Service).
Mr. Tate holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Oklahoma. He has been a Registered Professional Engineer since 1973, and is currently licensed in Illinois, Oklahoma, Hawaii and Virginia. He is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute in Charlottesville, Virginia.
He and his wife Judy, a retired Centreville, Virginia high school teacher, live in Manassas, Virginia. They have one daughter, who is married with three children and lives in Herndon, Virginia.
