RDUP Acceptance Procedures for Gel-Filled Fiber Optic Cables
 

IIn addition to the requirements shown under the general listing procedures, the following information is required in a request for initial acceptance of gel-filled fiber optic cables.

Item 1: Test data indicating that the optical fibers comply with the optical fiber end product performance requirements of 7 CFR 1755.900(RUS Bulletin 1753F-601), RUS Specification for Filled Fiber Optic Cables,foreach type of optical fiber.

Item 2: Test data indicating that the buffer tube complies with the buffer tube end product performance requirements of 7 CFR 1755.900(RUS Bulletin 1753F-601), RUS Specification for Filled Fiber Optic Cables.

Item 3: Test data indicating that the jacket material complieswith the finished jacket material end product performance requirementsof 7 CFR 1755.900 (RUS Bulletin 1753F-601), RUS Specification for FilledFiber Optic Cables.

Item 4: Test data indicating that armor joints comply with thefinished armoring end product performance requirements of 7 CFR 1755.900(RUS Bulletin 1753F-601), RUS Specification for Filled Fiber Optic Cables.

Item 5: Test data indicating compliance with the optical endproduct performance requirements of 7 CFR 1755.900 (RUS Bulletin 1753F-601),RUS Specification for Filled Fiber Optic Cables, for each type of opticalfiber.

Item 6: Test data indicating compliance with the mechanical end product performance requirements of 7 CFR 1755.900 (RUS Bulletin 1753F-601), RUS Specification for Filled Fiber Optic Cables, for each gel-filled fiber optic cable design.

Item 7: Test data indicating compliance with the qualificationtesting (Appendix A) section of 7 CFR 1755.900 (RUS Bulletin 1753F-601),RUS Specification for Filled Fiber Optic Cables.

Item 8: A list of all materials used to manufacture gel-filledfiber optic cables to 7 CFR 1755.900 (RUS Bulletin 1753F-601), RUS Specification for Filled Fiber Optic Cables. The list should include the manufacturer of the material, its product designation, and its product data sheet for each material.

Item 9: A 3-foot sample of the gel-filled fiber optic cable manufactured to 7 CFR 1755.900 (RUS Bulletin 1753F-601), RUS Specification for FilledFiber Optic Cables.

Item 10: Submit only 1 original and 1 photocopy of the required test data.


RUS ACCEPTANCE PROCEDURES FOR DRY-FILLED FIBER OPTIC CABLES

In addition to the requirements shown under the general listing procedures, the following information is required in a request for initial acceptance of dry-filled fiber optic cables.

Item 1: The information requested in the 10 items for gel-filled fiber optic cables.

Item 2: Test data indicating that the change in attenuation and/or bandwidth of the optical fibers is in compliance with Paragraph 3.1.5.2of Appendix A of 7 CFR 1755.900 (RUS Bulletin 1753F-601), RUS Specificationfor Filled Fiber Optic Cables after performing the "Water Immersion Test,"(Paragraph 3.2 of Appendix A) of 7 CFR 1755.390 (Bulletin 1753F-205), RUSSpecification for Filled Telecommunications Cables. Submit 1 original and1 photocopy of the above test data.
