Catalog designations for each BET according to pair size must be included in the application.

A product bulletin and an installation procedure concerning the BET must be included in the application.

Conformance to Standards

Test data indicating that the protected BET either conforms to Telcordia Technical Reference TR-NWT-000937, January 1993, "Generic Requirements for Building Entrance Terminals," or some other recognized industry standard for BET units.

These certifications shall be accomplished by the submission photocopies of the reports and letters of approval of such laboratories.

If the BET uses carbon arresters, test data indicating that the carbon arrester units either comply with the "Station Protection" requirements specified in RUS Bulletin 345-78, "RUS Specification for Carbon Arrester Assemblies for Use in Protectors, PE-78," or a certification indicating that the carbon arrester units are currently RUS accepted.

If the BET uses gas tube arresters, test data indicating that the gas tube arrester units either comply with the RUS Acceptance Procedures for Gas Tube Arresters - Item Designation "nh-a" or a certification indicating that the gas tube arrester units are currently RUS accepted. Indicate the duty class (light, medium, heavy, or maximum duty) of the gas tube surge arresters your company intends to use with the BET. The RUS Acceptance Procedures for Gas Tube Arresters (Item Designation "nh-a") can be found at the following web address: http://www.usda.gov/rus/telecom/listing procedures/section 5/nh lop.htm
