In addition to the information required under the general listing procedures, include the following information in a request for initial acceptance of digital central office switching equipment.

Product Description

Provide technical documentation that includes: block diagrams of the system; equipment specifications; engineering and application information, as well as, information on maintenance and installation; quality assurance and reliability considerations that demonstrate system reliability; and equipment repair and return procedures. Do not include system configuration and troubleshooting manuals. Also, include one copy of the product price list and one copy of the installation manual.

Conformance to Standards

The equipment must meet the requirements of 7 CFR 1755.522, RUS General Specification for Digital, Stored Program Controlled Central Office Equipment (Form 522). A copy of RUS Bulletin 1753E-001, which is a user-friendly version of this regulation, can be found at http://www.usda.gov/rus/telecom/publications/word_files/1753e001.doc. The application for acceptance should include a certification that the equipment complies with all paragraphs of Part I of Form 522. Detailed explanation should be provided for any noncompliances.
