In
addition to the information required under
the general acceptance procedures, include
the following information in a request for
initial acceptance of Network Elements.
Items in this category include equipment
such as Routers, Gateways, Subscriber Management
Systems, Headends, and Next Generation Network
Elements. Termination equipment, repeaters,
housings and multiplexers are considered
an integral part of the system. RUS does
not consider individual system components
for acceptance.
Product
Description
Provide
technical documentation that includes
block diagrams of the system, specifications,
engineering, and application information.
Include summary information on maintenance,
installation and pricing documentation.
Also provide documentation regarding:
a) quality assurance and reliability considerations
that demonstrate system reliability; and
b) equipment repair and return procedures.
Conformance
to Standards
List
all industry specifications and requirements
from nationally recognized standard developing
organizations for which the product complies,
such as those from ANSI, Telcordia Technologies,
IEEE, ATM Forum, IETF, TIA , etc. Include
the title, version and date for each specification.
Also include FCC certifications, any quality
assurance certification, and any acceptance
from a nationally recognized testing laboratory.
All products must be performance tested
for its advertised abilities prior to
submittal for RUS acceptance and these
test results must be submitted.
