Who can apply:

  • Bus. & Individuals:Owners of certain agricultural lands subject to income limitations.

Can you see an opportunity where you live?:

  • Real Examples:The Eddy family are 4th generation owners of Vally Farm in East Woodstock Village, Connecticut. When they decided to ensure that the land would never be developed for housing or other commercial uses, they turned to NRCS to help them transfer the development rights to the town, ensuring that the prime farmland would remain available for farming and the community would continue to enjoy the benefits of open space, including views and wildlife habitat.
  • Possibilities:The Farm and Ranch Lands Protection Program is a great example of how the USDA is protecting natural resources and encouraging smart growth while supporting local farmers and local food systems
