The USDA and partners have developed a number of resources and services to help transitioning and certified operations address the practical challenges of organic production.

USDA's National Organic Program Handbook includes guides for organic crop & livestock production, guides for organic processing, organic system plan templates, as well as specific explanations of topics such as wild cropping and compost.

Additionally, the Organic Literacy Initiative provides an organic outreach "toolkit," including webinars, posters, brochures, and a comprehensive guide to USDA programs for organic producers.

The Natural Resources Conservation Service provides conservation assistance to organic producers to assess resource concerns, plan and install conservation practices, and meet natural resources conservation requirements for organic certification.
