The Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement develops and maintains partnerships focused on solutions to challenges facing rural and underserved communities in the United States, and connects those communities to the education, tools, and resources available to them through Department of Agriculture programs and initiatives. We facilitate partnerships and offer education and resources to foster opportunity, wealth creation, and asset building in rural and underserved communities.

MISSION: OPPE bridges stakeholders and USDA to ignite bold, strategic action on our five core policy pillars, forge transformative partnerships, and deliver real, measurable breakthroughs in program access.

VISION: OPPE offers first-rate customer service for all USDA stakeholders and greater incorporation of their feedback and ideas into USDA programming, which ensures a vibrant America where every farmer, rancher, forester, rural community, military veteran, college, school, faculty member, youth organization, and faith organization has agency in USDA and federal programs that are meant to serve them— and not the other way around.
