The Office of the General Counsel (OGC) is an independent legal agency within the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). OGC provides legal advice and services to the Secretary of Agriculture and to all other officials and agencies of the Department with respect to all USDA programs and activities. All legal services are centralized within OGC and the General Counsel reports directly to the Secretary.

The mission of the Office of Hearing and Appeals (OHA) is to plan, coordinate, and provide administrative support for the National Appeals Division (NAD), the Office of the Administrative Law Judges (OALJ), and the Office of the Judicial Officer (OJO).  OHA promotes fairness, transparency, and consistency in NAD, OALJ, and OJO proceedings through the planning, coordination, and administration of office-wide activities and initiatives.The OHA was established in 2017 to consolidate three previously separate entities: NAD, OALJ, and OJO.

USDA DS seeks to attract talented senior technologists and strategists to further the wide-ranging missions of USDA mission areas, agencies and staff offices. As part of this effort, the USDA DS is offering fellowship opportunities in partnership with the Office of Customer Experience to hire talented individuals for term-limited appointments to help partner across the Department and complete this important work. The USDA DS is also responsible for helping to set the strategic direction and priorities for how USDA recruits, hires, and develops our IT workforce across the Department.

What We DoThe OSDBU was created as part of the Small Business Act, as amended by Public Law 95-507 and subsequent supporting legislation. The USDA OSDBU was established on June 26, 1979. OSDBU provides leadership to the Department to attain its federally mandated small business goals for USDA’s contracting portfolio.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) established the Technology and Accessible Resources Give Employment Today (TARGET) Center in 1992 to utilize the power of technology and provide impactful services related to improving accessibility and contributing to the complete employment experience of individuals with disabilities. Our vision is to positively impact the lives of individuals with disabilities who provide and obtain resources from the USDA. 

In addition, OO provides centralized business services including mail management, printing and duplication, a nationwide disability resource center, office supplies, shipping/receiving, warehouse and labor services, a Consolidated Forms and Publications Distribution Center and Centralized Excess Property Operations.
