Tim McCrosson
As part of the Enterprise Data Management Center (EDMC), Tim leads the Enterprise Geospatial Management Office (EGMO) and coordinates geospatial data activities across the United State Department of Agriculture (USDA) Mission Areas and Agencies.
In his previous role, Tim worked as the Assistant Chief Information Officer (ACIO) for Rural Development. This work is focused on maintaining and developing information technology (IT) capabilities, mostly loan and grant origination and servicing systems which support mission delivery and operations. Previously, he was the Associate CIO for the Client Experience Center (CEC) where he consolidated IT operations for 117,000 USDA staff and led the delivery of laptops, network, software, and IT support across the Department.
Before returning to USDA, Tim was the Deputy Branch Chief for Cybersecurity Performance Management in the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) at the Department of Homeland Security. Tim was also the Unit Chief for Agency Oversight in the Office of the Federal Chief Information Officer (OFCIO) in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). He was a contributor to many policies including the transition to Technology Business Management, PortfolioStat, and commodity acquisitions of laptops, mobile devices, and software. He also supported the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee (HSGAC) in the Senate, contributing to legislation and supporting oversight hearings. Previously, Tim was a Program Manager at the Food and Nutrition Service and a Project Manager at Housing and Urban Development.
Tim graduated from tiny Illinois College with a bachelor’s degree in history and political science and received a master’s degree from the University of Virginia in the Management of Information Technology. He lives just outside of DC and enjoys trail running, kayaking, cycling, as well as playing, coaching, and refereeing soccer.
