Dr. Lauren Stump
Dr. Lauren Stump is the Deputy Under Secretary for the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Research, Education, and Economics mission area, which encompasses the Agricultural Research Service, Economic Research Service, National Agricultural Statistics Service, National Institute of Food and Agriculture and Office of the Chief Scientist. These agencies serve a critical role at USDA to advance U.S. agriculture research, extension, and education. Dr. Stump earned her Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from LSU’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Lauren’s career has focused on animal and public health and nutrition, food and agriculture, and research. She has worked in the policy space in D.C. in the office of a U.S. Senator and at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, in management in the private sector, and in veterinary practice. She is a native of southwest Louisiana.
