Federal Register Notices

Federal Register notices are annually prepared to inform the public of the sanitary and phytosanitary standard-setting activities of Codex. The announcement of this, plus other notices that involve Codex can be found on the U.S. Codex Office section of federalregister.gov.

Public Meetings

U.S. Delegates to Codex committees schedule public meetings prior to their committee meetings to inform the public about the meeting agenda and draft U.S. positions. During these public meetings, delegates also receive comments from interested parties on Codex issues.

Codex Committee on Fats and Oils (CCFO)

The U.S. Codex Office is sponsoring a public meeting on January 21, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00pm ET. The objective of the public meeting is to provide information and receive public comments on agenda items and draft U.S. positions to be discussed at the 29th Session of the Codex Committee on Fats and Oils (CCFO29) which will be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from February 9-13, 2026.

  • The public meeting will take place via video teleconference only. Documents related to CCFO29 will be accessible at the following link: www.fao.org/fao-who-codexalimentarius/meetings/detail/ro/?meeting=CCFO&session=29.
  • The U.S. Delegate to the 29th Session of the CCFO invites interested U.S. parties to submit their comments electronically to the following email address: Girdhari.Sharma@fda.hhs.gov. Emailed comments should state in the subject line that they relate to activities of the 29th Session of the CCFO.
  • Registration: Attendees may register to attend the public meeting at the following link: ZoomGov Registration. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA)

The U.S. Codex Office is sponsoring a public meeting on March 3, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00pm ET. The objective of the public meeting is to provide information and receive public comments on agenda items and draft U.S. positions to be discussed at the 56th Session of the Codex Committee on Food Additives (CCFA56) which will be held in Chongqing, China, from April 13-17, 2026.

  • The public meeting will take place via video teleconference only. Documents related to CCFA56 will be accessible at the following link: www.fao.org/fao-who-codexalimentarius/meetings/detail/en/?meeting=CCFA&session=56.
  • The U.S. Delegate to the 56th Session of the CCFA invites interested U.S. parties to submit their comments electronically to the following email address: daniel.folmer@fda.hhs.gov. Emailed comments should state in the subject line that they relate to activities of the 56th Session of the CCFA.

Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods (CCRVDF)

The U.S. Codex Office is sponsoring a public meeting on March 5, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00pm ET. The objective of the public meeting is to provide information and receive public comments on agenda items and draft U.S. positions to be discussed at the 28th Session of the Codex Committee on Residues of Veterinary Drugs in Foods (CCRVDF28) which will be held in Minneapolis, MN, from March 23-27, 2026.

  • The public meeting will take place via video teleconference only. Documents related to CCRVDF28 will be accessible at the following link: https://www.fao.org/fao-who-codexalimentarius/meetings/detail/en/?meeting=CCRVDF&session=28.
  • The U.S. Delegate to the 28th Session of the CCRVDF invites interested U.S. parties to submit their comments electronically to the following email address: jonathan.greene1@fda.hhs.gov. Emailed comments should state in the subject line that they relate to activities of the 28th Session of the CCRVDF.
